Match Report and Comments
A Report by Adam
Russ: "We're batting."
Adam: "Did you win the toss Russ?"
Russ: "No comment."
Alan: "You lost it then."

A rattling start by Alan and we were going at 8 an over and then Alan edged one behind for 17.
Pete came in an took the left hander apart and made more runs.
Adam was out plum lbw trying to scoop one that kept low. Rubbish shot, easy decision.
Jools came in.
Pete then got bowled by a full toss that must have swung?
Sean Davis came in and played some nice shots but after wandering around outside his crease again was stumped and Adam had no option but to give him out.
Raza came in and got a couple of runs.
A direct hit looked like Raza was history, but I decided after replaying the incident in my mind, he was just in.
Next ball he spooned it to mid on anyway.
Russ came in and got a brisk 7 before being bowled.
At this point we were 63-6 and looking precarious.
Craig and Jools steadied the ship getting 14 off one over, and craig hitting a couple of fours to end up on 9 before being stumped.
Jools perished on 12 to LBW and Paul and Mike got the score up to 107.

Fernhill started brightly despite Raza charging in. After a few LBW shouts, Simon was given out for 4 after they have 25ish.
The next wicket didn't go down until 46 runs were scored. Caught and bowled by Alan, Sean deciding not to challenge for the catch :)
Another good partnership got Fernhill up to 60 odd for 2 and it was not looking good for Nokia.
With Drew retiring and Pete's fast bowling yorkers finally getting Thatcher, Russ decided to bring himself on to clean up the middle order.
The runs dried up and the wickets went down after good pressure and tight bowling.
Fernhill needed 16 of the last 2 overs.
Alan bowled a tight over taking the 2nd to last wicket to bring Drew back in.
Mike bowled the last over with them needing 13 and Drew facing.
The first ball was a wide, there were a few dot balls then a 2 and a single.
Then with the pressure on, confusion left Drew stranded looking for a second and he was run out.

An unlikely victory, but Nokia showed they can put pressure on fielding when needed.

Russ Report:
We batted very poorly, but somehow managed to fight our way to 107-8 thanks to some good hitting from Craig.

20 runs short, but something to bowl at...

They started well I guess, and it felt like they were cruising at about 70-2 and it looked to be all over.... But then we managed to start nipping a few wickets and the pressure ramped up each time!

Wickets kept on tumbling and before we knew it, they needed 16 off the last 2 overs with 2 wickets in hand. Great over from Al managed to take a wicket for about 3 runs I think, meaning Drew, their retired batsman came back in for the last wicket.

The last over was excellently bowled by Mike, despite a wide first up, and pretty soon they needed boundaries off the remaining balls. With the field protecting the boundary they ran themselves out trying to get Drew on strike.
