|before the game we decided to play 10 overs of 10 balls. 2 overs per bowler. Fernhill won the toss and decided to bat first which suited Nokia as we decided we wanted to chase.|
Fernhil lmade steady progress only losing 1 wicket in the first few pairs.
They ended up on 89-6 net 59 after a good last over grabbed them some extra runs.
Nokia started well and then struggled to make inroads losing wickets steadily, leaving the last pair to get 25 of 20 balls but with the poer play in hand.
After 20 runs off the first over including a 4 of each batsman, only 5 was needed off the last over, eventually a single was scurried, then a dot and then the crucial 4 with 2 balls left.
Another scrambled put daylight between us and a leave of a fast ball with fernhill needing a wicket retained the cup.
Umpiring and scoring was called into question again but i reckon the scores were accurate if not very elegantly recorded. maybe a call for a neutral scorer can be made for the next final, but as we have struggled for neutral umpires this would seem to be in vain again.
A neutral umpire scoring would be nice.
